This program includes didactic and psychomotor instruction. Lectures provide the information on fire terminology and procedures needed to understand fire behavior and suppression. The students will learn how to use personal protection equipment, ropes, hand and power tools, ladders, hoses and nozzles, and other firefighting equipment. Safety is the focus throughout this program.
Prerequisite: Must be 16 years of age by October 1.
We are supported by the Knox, Lincoln, and Waldo County Emergency Services (EMS, Fire, and EMA). We have also had local businesses donate materials that help meet the needs of the program.
