Outdoor Leadership |
The 2-year Outdoor Leadership program will provide the basic training and skills necessary to students that are interested in pursuing post-secondary education and/or employment in the many professions that relate to the outdoors. Additionally, graduates will gain the skills and confidence they need to pursue leadership positions in any industry. Students will be challenged physically, mentally, and academically while developing their potential for leadership, teamwork, and service using the outdoor world as their classroom. Students are required to be physically fit and able to participate fully. A sports physical is highly recommended. Fit tests include the wildland firefighter medium duty test: a timed 30 minute 2 mile hike with a 25lb pack and various components from the Maine Game Warden fitness qualifications.
