2023 Student Recognition Night

On May 25th Mid-Coast School of Technology recognized 113 students at the annual Student Recognition Night.  While Mid-Coast does not award diplomas, each spring they recognize students who have completed at least two years of programming.  This year 90 seniors were recognized while the remaining were recognized for completing their 2 year program and plan to finish their coursework at their respective high schools.

This year’s graduating seniors are leaving Mid-Coast with a variety of plans in place.  Half of the students plan to further their education through either a 2-year or 4-year school.  About 20% plan to directly enter the workforce. Many students are taking advantage of “free” community college in the fall.  Thirty-three on campus students took advantage of concurrent enrollment earning a total of nearly 150 community college credits while enrolled in their program.  Nearly two thirds of the graduating seniors earned an industry recognized credential in just their senior year.

In addition to recognizing students completing their programs, scholarship awards were announced.  This year over $45,000 was awarded to seniors in pursuit of their post-secondary training and education. We would like to thank all area businesses and organizations who have contributed to these awards that support our students furthering their education.
