First year Carpentry students are starting the year strong. Every year students start by learning the basics of hand tools and safety. All students have begun their OSHA-10 training towards certification. Meanwhile in the shop they are learning the proper use of all of the hand tools with the construction of a bird house.
After finishing this project students will begin learning how to safely operate power tools and start larger constructions. By the end of the year the class will have constructed a shed that mimics the build of a house.

Second year students have been busy planning, designing, and building their own small projects. This year they are focusing more on Finish Carpentry. Both groups have had the opportunity to meet with Harbor Builders, from St. George, and are planning to make site visits to their full build projects this school year.
