Description
The Firefighting Program is a one year course. In this program, the students will learn the training foundations needed to be a Firefighter. This program includes didactic and psychomotor instruction. Lectures provide the information on fire terminology and procedures needed to understand fire behavior and suppression. The students will learn how to use personal protection equipment, ropes, hand and power tools, ladders, hoses and nozzles, and other firefighting equipment. Safety is the focus throughout this program.
Prerequisite: Must be 16 years of age by October 1.
