Mid-Coast School of Technology Students Attend State Leadership and Skills Conference

BANGOR, ME — Students from the Mid-Coast School of Technology (MCST) recently traveled to Bangor to participate in the SkillsUSA State Leadership & Skills Conference (SLSC) held on March 12th and 13th. The Mid-Coast delegation consisted of 42 Career and Technical Education (CTE) students who competed in a diverse range of categories, including skilled trades and leadership competitions.

The team was led by Advisor Chelsea Moore and included several veteran competitors. Seven students returned to the state conference from the previous year, including Cole Bruno, who represented the school at the national level in 2025 for T-Shirt Design. Following two days of rigorous competition, 12 MCST students earned medals in their respective fields.

The competition required students to demonstrate technical proficiency and professional skills evaluated by industry experts. The following students received recognition for their performances:

National Competition and Fundraising Efforts

Following their gold medal performances, five students have earned the opportunity to represent Mid-Coast School of Technology and the State of Maine at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC). This national event is scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 1-5, 2026.

Students are currently engaged in fundraising efforts to cover the costs associated with traveling to and competing in the national conference. Members of the community who wish to support these students may do so through the following methods:
