The Mid-Coast School of Technology (MCST) proudly hosted its highly anticipated Annual Car Show on Sunday, June 8th, drawing a large crowd and showcasing a vibrant celebration of automotive craftsmanship and community spirit. The event served as a crucial fundraiser for the local SkillsUSA chapter, an organization dedicated to empowering students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders, and responsible community members.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. It helps students excel by providing educational programs, events, and competitions that support career and technical education. The funds raised from the car show will directly support MCST’s SkillsUSA students, enabling them to participate in leadership conferences, skill competitions, and professional development opportunities.
This year’s car show was a resounding success, with the MCST parking lot filled to capacity and spectator parking overflowing across the street at Primo, a testament to the event’s growing popularity. Attendees enjoyed a diverse array of vehicles, from classic cruisers to modern marvels. Highlights included a spirited “loud pipe” competition that thrilled the crowd and a “Top 25 Cars” contest, with winners chosen by popular vote from the enthusiastic attendees.
A significant number of the car show entries came from proud alumni of Mid-Coast School of Technology, creating a special atmosphere of reunion and mentorship. This event serves as a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the skilled trades and allows former students to reconnect with their alma mater and share their professional journeys.
The success of the event was also greatly enhanced by the culinary talents of MCST’s own students. The Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry programs prepared and served delicious lunches and an array of tempting desserts, providing a delightful experience for all.
Mid-Coast School of Technology extends its sincere gratitude to the dedicated organizers who made this event possible: Danica Wooster, Brandon Soards, and Chelsea Moore. Special thanks also go to Charles Butler for expertly running the concessions and Austin Sousa for keeping the energy high as the event’s DJ. Their hard work and commitment ensured a memorable and impactful day for everyone involved.
The Mid-Coast School of Technology looks forward to continuing this tradition, fostering community engagement, celebrating the trades, and supporting the future leaders of SkillsUSA.
The date for the 2026 Car Show is Sunday, May 3, 2026.
