The Mid-Coast School of Technology proudly honored its 101 graduating seniors at a special Recognition Night held on Wednesday, May 29, 2025, at the Owls Head Transportation Museum. The evening, which began at 6:00 PM, celebrated the achievements of students who successfully completed at least one program during their time at Mid-Coast.
The event commenced with a welcoming address from the Mid-Coast Director, Bobby Deetjen, who highlighted the dedication and hard work of the graduating class. This year’s seniors are poised for diverse and promising futures, with nearly 70% planning to pursue post-secondary training through two or four-year colleges or certification programs. The remaining 30% will be entering or continuing in the workforce after graduation. Their career aspirations span critical industries, including nursing, automotive technology, electrical trades, HVAC, engineering, and many others.
A significant highlight of the evening was the awarding of approximately $40,000 in scholarships, generously provided by local businesses and organizations. These scholarships will undoubtedly provide crucial support as students embark on their next educational and professional journeys.
Industry leaders were among the distinguished presenters for the scholarship awards, underscoring the strong partnership between MCST and the regional business community. Presenters included:
- Peter Horch of Horch Roofing
- Jason Constantine of Back Cove Yachts
- Mike MacDonald of Central Maine Power (CMP) for the Maine Blue Collar Scholarship
- Cassandra McKellar of IFF
- Jack Frost of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust
Mid-Coast School of Technology extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2025 and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors.
