Seven talented students from Mid-Coast School of Technology represented Maine with distinction at the National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) in Atlanta, GA, from June 24-28, 2024. These dedicated individuals showcased their skills and knowledge in a variety of competitive events.
Bryson (Automotive Refinishing Technology) earned a third-place finish in his category. A second-year student, Bryson has previously studied Composite Manufacturing and Auto Collision. He plans to pursue Metal Fabrication at Central Maine Community College this fall.
Jillian (EMT) is a returning SkillsUSA member who previously competed at the national level in the EMT contest. This year, she represented Maine as a member of the Post-Secondary Officer Team. Jillian will attend Southern Maine Community College for Fire Science and Paramedicine while participating in the Live In program in Gray-New Glouster.
Braden (Welding Sculpture) is another returning competitor to the NLSC, having competed in Welding Sculpture both years. A recent graduate of the Welding program, Braden plans to continue working locally.
Dagen (CNC 3-Axis Milling Programmer) placed fifth in his category. As a third-year Machine Tool student, Dagen will attend Southern Maine Community College for Precision Machine Tool and continue working at Knox Machine in Warren.
Tessa (First Aid/CPR) is a first-year EMT student at Mid-Coast. She plans to graduate high school in 2025 and attend college to pursue a medical degree.
Kylie (Medical Math) is a recent graduate of the Medical Science and CNA programs. She will be attending the University of Maine at Augusta for Nursing.
Zach (Computer Programming) is a second-year Design Tech student. He will be taking a gap year to travel and explore college options for Computer Science.
