Meet Melissa Jagger
Melissa Jagger

Melissa Jagger is the new Horticulture teacher located offsite at Islesboro Central School.  She grew up in Orono and graduated from Orono High School in 1987.  Ms. Jagger then left Maine to travel for her education.  She attended West Germany and graduated from Ithaca College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. After earning her degree she spent over a decade in California and Nevada working in a variety of industries including restaurant, personal assistant, and small business owner.  She returned to Maine in 2003 and returned to school at the University of Maine for her professional teaching certificate.  Since then she has been teaching at the elementary and middle school levels.

Ms. Jagger is excited to join the Mid-Coast team and to have the opportunity to get the Islesboro Central School garden and greenhouse back into production. Outside of school she likes to go boating, hiking, and skiing.  Her favorite foods are anything chocolate veggies fresh out of the garden.  Fun fact: She has traveled to 10 foreign countries and hopes to visit Egypt to see the pyramids one day!
